Recieved your welcome letter today and was glad to hear from you but you have told me lots that I did not know. I never knew that your Brothers were at Johnson City although I knew of Johnson City. I think I told that I had a girl for me that was from Johnson City NY. I am at present laid up with Lumbago but am better tonight. Now as to your questions I will tell all that I know how. My Fathers name was Casper and he was 6 years old when he came to this country and my Mothers name was Mary and she was 18 years old when she came to this country. She was the only one of her family to come to this country. (2) She told me herself that she came with a boy friend. He paid her passage for her and on the ship he made up with another girl and she also told me that she did not care what her boy friend did as long as her passage was paid and she died March 26, 1883 and she was 51 years 10 months and 22 days old. When Father died he was 75 years old. My Father and Mother would not be your Grand Father and Mother but they were your Great Grand Father and Mother. They were the parents of your Father and that would make your Grand Parents. [I think he had it backwards in the 2nd sentence] Now as far as I know I have never heard of any Sents out of our relation. I don't know of any of my uncles living in NY state. I had an uncle Wicta[?] Wisconson[?]. He was my Fathers oldest brother. (5) [not sure if this is mistake or pages 3 & 4 are missing!] I have a car have had one for about 3 years. Uncle Henry Girl that you refer to her first name is Jennie but her married name I can't think of. They live at 600 College Ave State College. They sold the store and live at the college. They have a nice home where they live. He owns several houses at the college. I have my letter mixed up a little but I think you will understand and overlook all mistakes. You cousin Casper lives in Utica, NY. Uncle Casper and Uncle Jake are both dead.
